Fair Labor Standards Act: Wage and Hour Claims
The federal Fair Labor Standards Act requires that employees covered by the Act must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek at a rate not less than time and one-half their regular rates of pay. The Fair Labor Standards Act also makes it a violation for any person to retaliate against an employee for filing a complaint to recover overtime wages.
If your employer owes you overtime or is failing to pay you the minimum wage, you may wish to consult a lawyer to receive the compensation you have earned.
